My Book Shelf

Welcome to My Book Shelf!

To read is to fly: it is to soar to a point of vantage which gives a view over wide terrains of history, human variety, ideas, shared experience and the fruits of many inquiries.
- A C Grayling

I have a passion for reading! During nursing school I’d get so bogged down with nursing literature, when I actually had a moment to myself, I sure didn’t feel like reading!

In my third year, I made it a mission to spend 15-30 mins each night before going to bed to read what I wanted to read. I found it calmed my racing mind, and I was actually having better sleeps!

I really need to get back to doing that before bed, and ‘powering down’ more in the evening (e.g.: turning the TV off, closing the laptop, getting off my phone).

Time to read more! :)

This place is where I’ll add the books I’m reading or have read. I’ll add in a little review every once in awhile if I feel the book needs one! And please feel free to leave suggestions for great books you’ve read! I’m open to almost anything!

CURRENTLY READING: The Hunger Games

The Help
What an awesome book! Have you read it? It really is beautifully written, and it constantly makes you want to find out what happens next. It’s an eye opener. Tissue is needed… I cried. They way Kathryn Stockett is able to create and describe each character’s personality is what makes this book. I can picture and hear Aibileen in my head while reading her chapters perfectly. I can see Minny’s attitude, standing there with her hand on her hip. You need to read this book! It’s funny, it’s serious, it’s heart-wrenching. Loved it :)

*This page is definitely a work in progress… Come back soon! :) *
